Utilisation of the National Node
First and foremost, the Ultima RATIO platform distinguishes itself from competitive solutions by being integrated with the national state node. This integration allows us to verify our users' identities through the login.gov.pl service. It is true that the trusted profile is usually employed in citizens' interactions with public administration. Nonetheless, in accordance with current law, the State may allow its use by other entities under specific circumstances.
This was the case with Ultima RATIO.

Identity Verification through Trusted Profile
We have utilised this fact in our tool for signing contracts online.
A person wishing to sign a document must first confirm their details at login.gov.pl. This login process has two stages (login + password and SMS). Only after completing this step is the user transferred to Ultima RATIO.
There they find the contract ready for signing.
Thus, our e-signature possesses practically all the advantages of a qualified electronic signature. It can be used to sign 99% of contracts in legal dealings: loans, credits, work, orders, settlements, insurance, deliveries, storage, loans, management contracts, sales, cooperation, or construction work. It complies with all the legal requirements of the eIDAS directive. However, unlike a qualified signature, our e-signature is universal and easily accessible.
Practically everyone has a trusted profile today.

On the other hand, the e-signature on the Ultima RATIO platform somewhat resembles the trusted signature on the state gov.pl service. Companies often say that, in Ultima RATIO, they sign contracts “with a trusted profile”. We do not object.
Technically, however, there are some differences.
In the state's solution, the user cannot send a link to the document to a contractor. Therefore, they cannot control which document the recipient signs or manage the entire process - for example, check if the contract was received or send a reminder. Moreover, in Ultima RATIO, there are no limitations on the number of documents that can be signed at one time. We also do not restrict the size of individual files. Contracts are stored in one secure location, making them easy to manage.
Unlike the state solution, Ultima RATIO also offers an extensive API. This enables companies to handle contract signing processes “with a trusted profile” directly within their IT systems.
Recommendation for Companies Signing Contracts in Bulk
This strong PESEL verification is a shock for all kinds of fraudsters and scammers. In the systems they have encountered so far, no one particularly checked their identity. Companies simply relied on declared email addresses and phone numbers. Fraudsters could thus, with a bit of creativity, impersonate anyone and sign documents freely.
In Ultima RATIO, this is practically impossible. To sign an agreement online on behalf of someone else, a scammer would need access to:
the other person's email inbox
the login and password for the other person's login.gov.pl account
the mobile phone registered in login.gov.pl by the other person
Therefore, the Ultima RATIO electronic signature is especially useful for companies that sign numerous contracts online in bulk and do not want to disrupt future contractors' experiences with video verifications or self-verifications (which can be unreliable).
This solution is an essential part of our entire offering.
We also employ it in arbitration matters. The regulations require that this method be used for signing, among other things, witness statements and procedural powers. Such documents are then automatically validated by our system, so arbitrators treat them as 'indisputable' documents. This is significant in the event of later disputes, provided the parties include an Ultima RATIO clause in the agreement. It ensures that proceedings are shorter. There is no need to present evidence from handwriting experts.
